Network of Lawyers for the Defence of Media and Journalists in West Africa |
|
|
|
What it is
Set up in year 2000, the Network comprises legal experts
from across the sub-region to primarily provide legal support for Journalists/Media
in their legal defence against criminal prosecution.
The Media Foundation with support from its partners
has through this network made several interventions in a number of cases with
significant national and sub-regional impact and implications. As a result too,
demands for MFWA’s intervention are growing, and important challenges to the
programme’s implementation are also emerging.
Prof. Kwame Karikari ED of MFWA and Mr. Sunny Ugoh, Principal Information Officer of the ECOWAS Commission The Network of Lawyers pose for picture after the meeting
