Apple to Release 12-inch MacBook Air, Mass Production to Start in Q3 This Year

According to fresh rumors, Apple is soon going to add a 12-inch sized device to its MacBook Air series. Apple is known for producing the ultra slim MacBook Air in different sizes like 11-inch and 13-inch. However, in the third quarter of this year, Apple plans to initiate the mass production of MacBook Air in the third quarter of this year according to the rumors. The 12-inch MacBook Air will continue sport unibody aluminum design chassis. The tech world feels there is no requirement for Apple to add a 12-inch MacBook Air when 11-inch and 13-inch sized models are already available. According to sources, Apple feels that the 11-inch size is quite close to 9.7-inch iPad Air and the sales performance of the 11-inch MacBook Air are also unimpressive. By offering a 12-inch size option to the audience Apple will be able to provide good choice between the iPad Air and the MacBook Air. Meanwhile, the Cupertino company also wants to gradually end the production of Ultrabook. The sales record of Apple indicates that iPad series are doing pretty well in the market and it is impacting the sales of MacBook. Hence, Apple wants to differentiate between the two products. As of now, no official information has come out from Apple about the 12-inch MacBook Air. It is not sure whether Apple would kill the 11-inch MacBook Air to make way for 12-inch model or both would exist together. Tech experts are of the view that since the sales of 11-inch model is suffering, it would be good move by Apple phases it out. Anonymous sources reveal that MacBook Air will sport the very same sophisticated design and support similar capacity battery. It is also expected to feature a Retina display. The new model is going to be built by Quanta Computer, a company that has been collaborating with Apple since a long time. The 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air has already been upgraded to 1.4GHz processor speed along with $100 price cut. However, there has been no news about new upgrade for these models. The 11-inch model does not feature a Retina display and it is one of the reasons why the device has failed to get positive reviews. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI Securities, who has an exceptional track record on making predictions on Apple product release has expressed that iPad Pro is going to arrive in the next year. He also added that Apple will come up with a new 12-inch MacBook that will offer the portability of 11-inch model and performance of 13-inch model along with the inclusion of Retina display.
